With Martinair you really go on vacation. And that starts right when you check in. At Schiphol, you can check in for your Martinair flight in Departure Hall 3. We request that you do this at least 2 hours before departure. The check-in counters are opened from 4 hours before departure for this purpose; in connection with safety measures, it is not possible to check in earlier.
Tips

- Keep your ticket and passport handy both during and after the check-in procedure. They will be requested from you at different moments on the way to the gate.
- Keep in mind that, because of the extensive safety controls, it is of interest that you show up at the gate on time. Only then can our flights depart on time.
- Make sure that when checking in for your flight, both your travel documents as well as your (carry-on) luggage are in order and fulfill the most recent regulations. You'll find more information in this regard on the following pages: Passport and visa information and Baggage regulations
Important:
In order to guarantee a smooth check-in, we would also like to bring to your attention that:
- Martinair adheres to a policy of zero tolerance with regard to surpassing the permitted amount of check-in and carry-on luggage
- Your carry-on luggage must meet the latest requirements with respect to Liquids & Gels
Check-in for a flight to the USA
As an extra safety measure, U.S. legislation requires all airlines for all flights to the USA to collect more personal data of passengers than are stated in their passports, the so-called Advance Passenger Information (API). Martinair will collect these data during the check-in procedure and pass them on to the U.S. immigration authorities after departure of the flight. Check-in for flights to the USA will, for this reason, take more time.
What information falls under the Advance Passenger Information?
- Reference number of the reservation ("PNR")
- Country of issuance of the passport
- Expiry date of the passport (or Permanent Resident Card or Alien Resident Card)
- Country of residence of the passenger
- The (first) address in the USA where passenger will stay
Additional information regarding the address where passenger will stay:
- The address data must consist of: house number and street name, city, code of the state, zip code.
- Transfer passengers and persons who reside in the USA do not have to state an address in the USA.
- Transfer passengers with a final destination outside of the USA and a transfer time of 8 hours or shorter may simply state “Transit to NON-US Country” and the flight number of the flight with which they are flying.
- Passengers who are going to take a cruise may fill in “Transit to Cruise Line” (with mention of the name of the city and code of the state where the cruise begins and the name of the ship).
- Passengers who will rent a car or a camper directly after their arrival in the USA usually have an idea of where they are going; they must indicate as well as possible the address where they will be staying.
Additional information:
-
Martinair is not responsible for the correctness of the address data to be provided and on the basis of these data has no grounds to refuse passengers on a flight, unless the data are improbable.
-
The paper immigration and customs forms (including I-94) that usually must be filled out on board still apply for the time being.
Tips:
Note all API data before you appear at the check-in counter. That way, they can be taken down quickly and easily.
